The following case studies are three examples of the Foundation’s work in the community.
Kids in Crisis
"They have been great supporters in every sense of the word."
For over 10 years, Kids in Crisis, a nonprofit located in Greenwich, has benefited from grants from the First County Bank Foundation. The money received supports their Safe Haven for Kids program - the only program in the state to provide free emergency residential shelter and comprehensive medical, emotional and educational services to children of all ages and their families. Youngsters are protected in a nurturing, home-like setting where they receive the care and support they so desperately need and deserve.
Laurel House
"We work to bridge the gap between isolation and community for individuals and families coping with the challenges of mental illness."
Since 1984, Laurel House has been operating in Stamford and embraces a "recovery" model of care which holds that people with serious mental illness can and do adjust to the impositions of their disabilities. Laurel House serves 8 towns in Fairfield County and provides supportive programs and services. Read more...
CTE

The Tiny Miracles Foundation
When your life is focused on caring about your community, it’s nice to find a bank that shares the same mission.
Elizabeth “Leelee” Klein became involved with The Tiny Miracles Foundation because she wanted to ensure that families of premature babies in the community have support services available to them in and out of the hospital, which is something that was lacking in her experience. Read more...
